Every equipment maker eventually stops supplying the battery for a device that is still in the field. Solar security cameras, medical instruments, test equipment and legacy industrial tools all reach the point where the original pack is gone — but the device is fine. That is exactly when a replacement module makes sense.
What a "replacement module" actually is
It is a battery pack built to the electrical and mechanical footprint of the original: same voltage, similar capacity, same connector and outline, so it drops into the device without modification. Crucially, it is a compatible replacement — not a copy of the brand, and not represented as genuine. The goal is to make your device work again, safely.
Where this comes up most
- Solar / security cameras — small Li-ion modules sized to the camera's housing and duty cycle, often 2–4 cells in series.
- Medical and laboratory instruments — stable-output packs where batch consistency matters more than peak power.
- Legacy OEM equipment — devices whose original supplier has exited the market.
- Industrial and marine electronics — packs specified to a duty profile rather than a catalogue part.
How a replacement module is designed
The fastest start is a sample or a clear photo of the existing pack with its label and connector visible. From that, a factory confirms the cell count and configuration, matches or improves the protection circuit, and builds a prototype with real test data — capacity, internal resistance and discharge behaviour — before any volume order. You verify the prototype in your device, then move to production.
What to send to get a quote
Three things are enough to start: the old pack (or photos of front, back and connector), the device model, and your target quantity. If the label is worn or missing, a photo next to a ruler and a note of the voltage still gets the conversation moving. Full details are in our inquiry checklist.
Send us your current pack — we'll propose a replacement module
A photo or the old pack is enough to start. We reply within 24 hours with a specification proposal and pricing, and we build a tested prototype before you commit to volume.
